Kelli C.'s Student Portfolio

Here is an example of a student-created ePortfolio. I chose this example because it inspires me to think about how I could have my 8th grade students create an ePortfolio that showcases their learning and interests. I can see how this would be a great way for 8th graders to reflect on their middle school experiences towards the end of 8th grade. I appreciate that this student has pages for both her artistic pursuits and also her academic work. She also has some text that shows her thinking related to the art and images.

Jamie McClintock's ePortfolio

This is an ePortfolio created by a college student. I chose this example because it was another example of how my students might showcase their writing and ELA growth over the course of their 8th grade year. I can see my students creating simple pages that showcase and reflect upon their writing. It has a clean and simple look that I found appealing. I can easily see my students using this kind of page as inspiration.

Victoria's ePortfolio

Here is another example of student ePortfolio. This one appealed to me because of the clean look; it is easy to read and view, and I can easily get a feel for this person's work and interests. I also really like the "Inspirations" page. I can see how my students might create a page like this to reflect on their choices. One thing I don't like about this page -- and many of the other pages I viewed -- is that there is a large focus on the person, versus the work. I'd like for my students' portfolios to be about their work, and not a cute selfie.
